Michael? Diana? Michael Diana?

I really hate it when my wife knows a pop music trivia answer that skips past me. Yeah, she’s smarter than me in most areas but, by her own admission, pop music is my deal.

We’ve been listening to the soundtrack to Pippin in the car ‘cuz she’s directing it at the local high school (and my 8-year old is appearing as Theo).

My wife mentioned that Corner of the Sky was a big hit but, immediately, admitted I probably already knew that. (She massages my tender ego). I was going to venture into the conversation but couldn’t remember if it was Michael Jackson or Diana Ross who had the hit. (You can understand the confusion, being that there’s rumor they’re the same person).

Later, I went with Diana and she said, “no,” it was Michael. Well, neither of us was right: it was the Jackson 5. Absolved, I thought, I’m still the king (though my crown is a might soiled). But, truth be told, I have no clue who produced the first Dido album. Maybe her brother?

Rodriquez. And the Jackson Country Barn Owls?

I’m a big fan of the Half Hearted Dude. He comes by to visit frequently and writes a brilliant blog. So when he asked if I could dig up I Wonder by Rodriguez (as a follow up to my post with Sugar Man), I was ready to jump on it. For good measure, here’s one from the Jackson Country Barn Owls called I Wonder Why (just because I like their name).

One Response to “Yes, But Who Produced The First Dido Album?”
  1. You, Sir, are a scholar and a gentleman. Thank you for the song and your very kind words.
