I remember the first time I heard Bruce Cockburn. The AM radio station where I got my first part-time gig played Wondering Where The Lions Are (along with every Urban Cowboy wanna-be on the planet).
I’ve not loved everything I’ve ever heard from Bruce Cockburn but everything he’s done I respect. And much of it I really like. And he always has great musicians playing with him.
Margo Timmins sings on Mango and the harp player on When You Give It Away is named Carlos Del Junco, a recent discovery for me. (I loved his latest album, which I reviewed for Blues Revue magazine). Oh, and someone named Lucinda Williams sings on that one, too.
It’s Saturday night. My wife and I are going to lay on the bed and listen to this album, like we did in the old days.
