I can totally relate as to the effect the album, or single, has on me in reference to the memories they elicit. Many times I can almost smell the smells, feel the feelings I did at that precise moment or am able to transform myself to the date I listened to that particular track.

Well written, thank you!

I always liked that record, but never bought a copy. I'm sure it will turn up in a record dig for a modest price though.. Thanks for sharing your mp3 and a great story...

Peace and blessings.

That's a great post. It really gets out how deep our shared obsession is. It's about so much more than just the music (though that's certainly a big part). There are the memories of when we first heard it, owned it, who we were with, how old we were (I still smell the mixture of cut grass and gasoline when I hear the tracks I used to play on my Sony Walkman while begrudgingly doing the lawn for my dad back in '92).

I agree with AMD, it's a good single. I was a bit old when it was on the radio for it to be my first single, but I remembering singing along to my radio while I was on the phone with a young lady. She sang along with me, as we both said in melody something we were terrified to actually say in plain words.

Oh yeah, the Partridge Family! I'll freely admit that "I Woke Up In Love This Morning" is a heavenly slice of '70s pop. Oh, to have the Partridge Family as my first single, instead of that brutally awful assault of German Schlager music I can refer to...
