That’s a great story…the fact that Mom sent Dad out to buy an album is, alone, very cool.

My Mom once sent my Dad out to buy a case of Diet-Rite Cola and he came back with a 1973 Opel station wagon.

Groovy pic, music junkie! We share a similar haircut from this era, not to mention the songs listed ; I remember my father was sent out (by my mom) on an errand to purchase the LP “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, and returned several hours later with an unfamiliar looking sleeve housing a budget label disc. On the cover in small print was the legend “The Tony Mansell Singers Sing The Best Of Simon & Garfunkel”…

He’d probably banked on saving some cash, but his supper was served cold that night, I seem to remember.
