From The People Who Brought You Volvos, Legos and Ikea

Album Cover for Sweden's JJ

Southern California psychedelia rears it dreamy surrealistic head in the land of the Ingrid Bergman with a band called jj. For me, it tweaks my love for the late 60s stuff I grew up with like the Tremeloes, the Association and Mercy (though some may disagree with those comparisons).

And it dovetails into our current family obsession with the Beatles, given our many hours spent since Christmas on rock band. My 11-year old has decided George is his favorite (he’s a budding guitarist rebelling against the violin) and my 9-year old (the one with the perfect pitch) is playing Revolution, Nowhere Man and Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds in 5 different keys. (He says he prefers Lucy In The Sky in BM because “everything I play out of the books is in ‘C’”.)
