Blues, Baldry, Bloom and Butterfield

Over at My MOG, a brief post on Long John Baldry led to a conversation amongst some music heads about all variances of blues rock in the 1970′s. From Baldry to Butterfield to Michael Bloomfield, of whom I have a small bit of knowledge.

Somewhere in my collection, I have a compilation that Columbia released with cuts that Bloomfield did with a number of artists. My favorite from the group is Stop!, a tune that I’m hoping to track down.

In the meantime, here’s a big from each, including a Butterfield tune I’ve been pitching to my band.

Paul Butterfield (featuring Mike Bloomfield) – East West

Long John Baldry – Rock Me When He’s Gone

Paul Butterfield – Slow Down
