Answer The Door. You’ve Got A CarterGrammer.

This morning on the Kid’s Kommute we listened to Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer’s album from 2001, Drum Hat Buddha.
I was introduced to their music last year when a pair of singers covered Gentle Arms of Eden during a service at our church. (The church I attend is one of those sanctuaries for people who don’t fit in anywhere else. I call it The Church of The Misfit Toys. Naturally, you get a lot of musicians in the congregation).
This morning, Ordinary People caught my 6-year old’s attention, who asked if “we’re all in a town”. I’m never good at answering those questions that could ultimate become more intricate than a Zen Koan.
My 10-year old is a lot more straight-ahead. He latched-on to Tillman Co without any deep questions, just that I play it over and over between home and the front door of school (which is exactly what I do when I hear a song I like).
Sadly, Carter passed away shortly after making this record. You can read a little about their partnership here.

Thank you, too. I’ve really enjoyed checking in here since I discovered your corner of the world (through some other blog – which one, I can’t remember).
